Our Work
The IWJV initiates and coordinates bird conservation through public-private partnerships. Our work is divided into the following six areas:
- Biological Planning
- Conservation Design
- Habitat Delivery
- Monitoring and Evaluation
- Applied Research
- Communication, Education and Outreach
In each of these six areas we work with our partners to facilitate the work of the larger bird conservation partnership. In this way, the partnership is stronger than the sum of its parts.
The IWJV strives to achieve the Desired Characteristics of Joint Venture Partnerships, also referred to as The JV Matrix. The JV Matrix provides a common set of objectives for all 18 U.S. Habitat Joint Ventures. The JV Matrix is used by the IWJV to establish priorities and communicate our need for additional federal JV funding to Congress and the Office of Management and Budget.
