Jacque Buchanan

Pacific Northwest Regional Forester, USDA Forest Service

Ms. Jacque Buchanan has been a US Department of Agriculture/Forest Service employee for 32 years. Jacque is the Pacific Northwest Regional Forester for the US Forest Service. Prior to starting in this position, Jacque was the Director for Renewable Resources in the Rocky Mountain Region. Jacque also served as the Forest Supervisor on the Bridger-Teton NF in Jackson Hole, WY for three years and was the Deputy and Forest Supervisor on the Lincoln NF in the Southern part of New Mexico before then. Jacque has worked extensively in the area of International Forestry and has traveled to Brazil, Guyana, and India teaching Fire Leadership courses and helping those countries to establish both Fire and Wilderness management programs. Jacque started college in New Mexico and then transferred to Pennsylvania State University, completing her Bachelor of Science Degree in Natural Resources in May 1988. She has worked for several different agencies including, Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service, Farm Service Agency as well as the US Forest Service. Much of her background lies in Timber, Range, Fire, Recreation, and Public Affairs. She has worked in Colorado, Wyoming, Arizona and New Mexico, and North Carolina.
