Ed Schriever

Ed Schriever, Director, Idaho Department of Fish and Game

Ed Schriever was appointed in January 2019 as Director of the Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG). Prior to his appointment as Director he served as Deputy Director, overseeing field operations; and Chief of Fisheries, leading the state fishery program, overseeing management, research hatcheries, habitat, fish health and genetics. In his capacity as Chief of Fisheries, Ed also represented Idaho in the US vs OR forum during the re-negotiation of the Columbia River fisheries management agreement. He serves as Chairman of the National Fish Habitat Board and a representative to the Interagency Grizzly Bear Policy Committee. Ed has been employed by IDFG since 1984.

Ed graduated from Oregon State University with a B.S. degree in Fisheries Science.

His career passion has been managing the sustainable interaction Idaho hunters, trappers, and anglers enjoy with their wildlife.
