John Ranlett, Regional Biologist

John Ranlett is a Regional Biologist for Ducks Unlimited, Inc. (DU) and manages the wetland conservation program for northern California and western Nevada. He works closely with various federal, state, tribal, and private wetland conservation partners, as well as his DU engineering staff to develop wetland restoration/enhancement project proposals and seek public/private funding to support them. Previously, John has worked as a consulting wildlife biologist, Audubon Sanctuary manager, and as a field ornithologist for the Institute for Bird Population’s nationwide Monitoring Avian Productivity and Survivorship (MAPS) program. John earned a B.S. in Conservation Biology in 1985 from California State University, Sacramento. In his free time, John enjoys birding, hiking, and gardening.
