Laurel Anders, Communications Program Coordinator

Laurel trekked west in November 2016 to become the IWJV’s new Communications Program Coordinator. In this position, Laurel develops, coordinates, and implements strategic communications to build partnerships for bird habitat conservation and advance the IWJV’s mission. She brings with her 20+ years of state fish and wildlife experience from Pennsylvania, including the development, delivery, and evaluation of outreach and education programs, strategic planning, and creating collaborative work environments. When presented with an opportunity to live and work in the west, she accepted the call to apply her skill set to a new landscape, work environment and partnership. Laurel grew up in an outdoor-oriented family in southcentral Pennsylvania and looks forward to all that Montana has to offer including hunting, fishing, bicycling, hiking, snowshoeing, and trail running. She earned a B.S. in Education with an emphasis in Environmental Education from Slippery Rock University and is a Fellow of the National Conservation Leadership Institute. She currently calls Montana’s Bitterroot Valley “home”.
