Mike Fowlks

Mike Fowlks, Director, Utah Division of Wildlife Resources

Mike is the director of the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. Before becoming director, Mike served as the Division's deputy director for five years.  He spent eight years serving as the chief of the Law Enforcement section and seven years as the legislative liaison. He also served as a liaison with other professional law enforcement agencies, including county sheriffs and the Utah Department of Public Safety. In his different liaison roles, Mike has helped develop and write law enforcement policy and draft proposed statutory language.

Mike earned his Utah Police Officers Standards and Training in 1993 and worked in the Division’s Law Enforcement section for more than 20 years. He has a Bachelor's in Zoology/Animal Biology from the University of Utah and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy for Law Enforcement Administrators and the National Conservation Leadership Institute.
