Continuing Impactful Sagebrush Communications in New Contract Position

Partnering to Conserve Sagebrush Rangelands and the Intermountain West Joint Venture (IWJV) are seeking an innovative and enthusiastic communications professional with an interest in advancing collaborative conservation through diverse mediums to serve as the Sagebrush Communications Specialist. This is a part-time, contracted position that will have a primary focus on sagebrush rangeland conservation in the West.

Partnering to Conserve Sagebrush Rangelands has been prolific in communicating about sagebrush conservation, dynamic partnerships, and lasting collaboration successes since Hannah Nikonow began building the Sagebrush Communications Specialist position in 2016. We are pleased to announce that Hannah is now advancing to serve as the Intermountain West Joint Venture’s Communications and Marketing Coordinator. We are excited to fill sagebrush communications capacity behind Hannah and grow the IWJV’s communications program to new heights!

We are seeking proposals from those with excellent skills in communications, as well as experience with cultivating relationships with a broad and diverse range of people and/or organizations to craft stories about conservation impact. Those well suited for this role include individuals with a passion for conservation and natural resources. Candidates will also have demonstrated capabilities in designing and delivering communications and story-telling tools such as social media, eNewsletters, news posts, fact sheets, feature stories, storymaps, and presentations.

  • Cover letter that addresses interest in the position, communications, and experience in building and sharing stories or other content related to natural resource conservation.

  • In the RFP cover page, please address the weekly hours you have available for this contract and the total hourly cost for services to implement the associated work.

  • Resume with a minimum of three professional references.

  • Three writing samples related to natural resource conservation featuring people, wildlife, community, and/or western cultures and livelihoods. One sample may include another communication medium such as social media content, fact sheet, video, or other related product.
