Final report from the Sage-Grouse Conservation Objectives Team (COT) 2013

The Fish and Wildlife Service released a final report from the Sage-Grouse Conservation Objectives Team (COT) that, for the first time, delineates the ‘goal posts’ for conservation actions needed to maintain viable sage grouse populations and avert the need for a listing. This is an important development as it helps clarify how and where conservation efforts should be focused from a regional perspective. The report also validates the ‘core area’ approach and recognizes the value and importance of voluntary conservation actions.
