The Storyteller’s Circle is a (free!) virtual event intended for conservation communicators to engage in peer-supported professional development. This event is hosted by the Intermountain West Joint Venture and Crowd Conservation to be a space where storytellers and communicators throughout the conservation realm can come together to hone their craft.

Reach out to Emily Downing ([email protected]) or Nicole Reese ([email protected]) for more information. You can also subscribe to receive email updates about upcoming workshops and past events. Notes from past workshops are linked here.
In 2026, our Storyteller’s Circle events will be held on the final Thursday of each month from 3-4 p.m. Mountain Time. Workshops will include speaker-led presentation and discussion on topics that will build our capacity to tell better stories, as well as opportunities for communicators to share challenges and projects, and give/receive feedback on each other’s work. Register for individual sessions at the link below.

We’re hosting an in-person Storyteller’s Circle workshop May 21 & 22 in Fort Collins, Colorado. This event will focus on how we can lean into collaborative communications to make messaging more effective and reach new audiences. We’ll learn how to work together toward maximum communications impact, how to identify and to leverage the strengths of other organizations, and how to collaboratively strategize and develop messaging that transcends silos.
