We lose over one million acres of sagebrush rangeland habitat in the American West every year—and a lot of that loss is due to young conifer trees growing up in new places. 🌲
These trees both threaten habitat for sagebrush-dependent wildlife species like sage-grouse, and represent excess fuel for worsening wildfires.
But networks of conservation partners, including Pheasants Forever, the Bureau of Land Management, and more, are cooperating across the West to thin out and remove young conifer trees invading sagebrush ecosystems. Watch this video to learn more.
The Intermountain West Joint Venture is proud to support positions like Ethan’s across the West through our partnership with the Bureau of Land Management, and collaboration with partners like Pheasants Forever, the Southwest Montana Sagebrush Partnership, and many many more.
