Wyoming Wetland Focal Areas

In 2010, cooperating partners developed the Wyoming Wetlands Conservation Priorities and Strategies, a landscape-scale geospatial assessment of wetlands and their associated values. This strategic document was a collaborative project between Audubon Wyoming, Ducks Unlimited, the Intermountain West Joint Venture, Northern Great Plains Joint Venture, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Partners for Fish and Wildlife, The Nature Conservancy, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality, and Wyoming Game and Fish Department. As a follow-up to this effort, the Wyoming State Conservation Partnership has developed regional step-down plans addressing conservation needs within each of the priority wetland complexes.  The plans were presented to the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission in April 2015 and will guide project implementation over the next several years – links to the plans are provided below.

Additional plans for the Wind River, Salt River, and Northeast Wyoming are under construction.
