About the Lakeview Local Implementation Team Coordinator
The Lakeview OR Local Implementation Team Coordinator will build and support effective local collaboration to generate landscape-level conservation planning and implementation. Focus will include collaboration to address invasive annual grasses through proactive surveys and responsive treatments among BLM, Lakeview SCWD, Lake County Cooperative Weed Management Area, and private landowners. Restoration of mesic habitats will be prioritized, along with working with ranchers and the BLM to coordinate the piloting of virtual fencing projects. Efforts also include developing partnership structure and governance documents for the LIT to unify the group’s vision and ensure shared priorities before project development is initiated, to ensure projects are strategic and meet the larger LIT objectives. This position will also assist with quarterly LIT meetings; increase the local community and stakeholders’ understanding of the LIT’s purpose through outreach efforts; apply for grants for restoration funding within the group’s shared priority area to address sagebrush habitat threats; and collaborate with stakeholders and BLM staff to write long term goals (5-10 year) for LIT priorities in the strategic plan.
