The Colorado State Forest Service Lead Forester focuses on the delivery of vegetation treatments and adaptive management practices within persistent pinyon-juniper woodlands in the BLM’s Southwest District of Colorado. The Lead Forester designs, monitors, coordinates, and implements fuels management treatments to enhance the resilience of pinyon-juniper woodland and sagebrush ecotones. They also enhance spatial prioritization of fuels treatments based on wildlife habitat needs and other resource considerations. By providing landscape-level conservation planning, technical assistance, and project prioritization support to the BLM and partners, this position contributes to cross-boundary, landscape level projects spanning numerous ownership entities.
