About RON
Ron became the Chief Conservation Officer for Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever (PF/QF) in 2021. In his current position, Ron is responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight to the organization’s government affairs, education and outreach, and conservation delivery and field operations teams. Ron began his career with PF/QF in 2004, administering a grants program of more than 500 partnership agreements with local, state, and federal partners until being promoted to Public Finance Director in 2008. Before moving to the PF/QF National Office, Ron worked as one of the organization’s first Farm Bill Biologists, stationed in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Service Center in Parker, South Dakota. Prior to his time with PF/QF, Ron worked for the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies. Ron’s background is in wildlife biology and public policy. He has a B.S. from the University of Wyoming and an M.S. from South Dakota State University. Ron is a graduate of the National Conservation Leadership Institute’s third cohort.
