New Mexico
The New Mexico State Conservation Partnership (NMSCP) uses collaboration to facilitate state and regional conservation planning and on-the-ground conservation projects for birds and other wildlife. The NMSCP supports priority research and carries out management actions aimed at benefiting focal bird species and habitats along the Middle Rio Grande, an area of critical importance to bird populations in the state. Current NMSCP priorities include science-based wetland and riparian habitat conservation for game and non-game species, as well as modeling habitat availability and needs for Sandhill Cranes, Southwestern Willow Flycatchers, and migratory waterfowl.
